In astrology, the birth chart (Janamkundli) should be studied in totality and an astrologer need to see various points like planet’s rashi position, Nakshatra position, position in various divisional charts, bala, aspects, various dasas etc. before concluding anything.

When Saturn passes through the 4th house from the birth moon, it is supposed to give negative results. This position of Saturn is called Ardha Sade-sati (Half-Sade-sati). This planetary position or sade-sati is very much hyped by Vedic astrologers and this period of seven and a half year is said to be very inauspicious. According to some, this is a period with many challenges, some unforgettable. Person passing through sade-sati is prescribed various remedies and parihars like mantra, japa, donation, and havan etc.

Here are the timings of sade-sati for every rashi:

(1) Aries: - the sade-sati on this rashi will commence when Saturn will transit Pisces (29/03/2025 to 02/06/2027 & from 20/10/2027 to 23/02/2028), Aries (02/06/2027 to 20/10/2027 & from 23/02/2028 to 08/08/2029) &Taurus ( 08/08/2029 to 05/10/2029 & from 17/04/2030 to 30/05/2032).

(2) Taurus: - the sade-sati on this rashi will commence when Saturn will transit Aries (02/06/2027 to 20/10/2027 & from 23/02/2028 to 08/08/2029), Taurus (08/08/2029 to 05/10/2029 & from 17/04/2030 to 30/05/2032) &Gemini (30/05//2032 to 12/07/2034).

(3) Gemini: - the sade-sati on this rashi will commence when Saturn will transit Taurus (08/08/2029 to 05/10/2029 & from 17/04/2030 to 30/05/2032), Gemini (30/05//2032 to 12/07/2034) &Cancer (12/07/2034 to 27/08/2036).

(4) Cancer: - the sade-sati on this rashi will commence when Saturn will transit Gemini (30/05//2032 to 12/07/2034), Cancer (12/07/2034 to 27/08/2036) &Leo (27/08/2036 to 22/10/2038 & from 05/04/2039 to 12/07/2039).

(5) Leo: - the sade-sati on this rashi will commence when Saturn will transit Cancer (12/07/2034 to 27/08/2036), Leo (27/08/2036 to 22/10/2038 & from 05/04/2039 to 12/07/2039) &Virgo (22/08/2038 to 05/04/2039 & from 12/07/2039 to 27/01/2041).

(6) Virgo: - the sade-sati on this rashi commenced when Saturn transited Leo (01/11/2006 to 10/01/2007 & from 15/07/2007 to /09/09/2009), Virgo (09/09/2009 to 15/11/2011) & Libra (15/11/2011 to 16/05/2012 & from 04/08/2012 and this will be up to 02/11/2014).

(7) Libra: - the sade-sati on this rashi commenced when Saturn transited Virgo (09/09/2009 to 15/11/2011), Libra (15/11/2011 to 16/05/2012 & from 04/08/2012 and this will be up to 02/11/2014) &Scorpio (02/11/2014 to 26/01/2017 & from 20/06/2017 to 26/10/2017).

(8) Scorpio: - the sade-sati on this rashi commenced when Saturn transited Libra (15/11/2011 to 16/05/2012 & from 04/08/2012 and this will be up to 02/11/2014), Scorpio (02/11/2014 to 26/01/2017 & from 20/06/2017 to 26/10/2017) &Sagittarius (this will be from 26/01/2017 to 20/06/2017 & from 26/10/2017 to 24/01/2020).

(9) Sagittarius: - - the sade-sati on this rashi will commence when Saturn will transit Scorpio (02/11/2014 to 26/01/2017 & from 20/06/2017 to 26/10/2017), Sagittarius (26/01/2017 to 20/06/2017 & from 26/10/2017 to 24/01/2020) & Capricorn (24/01/2020 to 29/04/2022 & from 12/07/2022 to 17/01/2023).

(11) Aquarius: - the sade-sati on this rashi will commence when Saturn will transit Capricorn (24/01/2020 to 29/04/2022 & from 12/07/2022 to 17/01/2023), Aquarius (29/03//2025 to 02/06/2027 & from 20/10/2027 to 23/02/2028) &Pisces (29/03/2025 to 02/06/2027 & from 20/10/2027 to 23/02/2028).

(12) Pisces: - the sade-sati on this rashi will commence when Saturn will transit Aquarius (29/03//2025 to 02/06/2027 & from 20/10/2027 to 23/02/2028), Pisces (29/03/2025 to 02/06/2027 & from 20/10/2027 to 23/02/2028) & Aries (02/06/2027 to 20/01/2027 & from 23/02/2028 to 08/08/2029).

In my experience of many years in the field of astrology, I have found sade-sati botheffective & less effective. It is very difficult for an amateurastrologer to predict on the basis of sade-sati in advance. We suggest not to be scared of this phase but at the same time recommend to take up easy remedies for to keep the excessive negative impact of these planetary positions at bay.
